I used this image as a reference when doing my facial concepts for the character Maria. |
Final Fantasy 12: This selection of art works was very inspirational. The futuristic setting and mechanical cities/airships were very helpful when designing my maps and digital drawings of the city Calence and the ARC ship/spire. The way the character designs in these pictures are laid out were also quite inspirational.
Magna Carta 2: These images are illustrated by my favourite artist, he specialise in character design. For all art works I ever create I look at work he has made. I do this mostly because of the over exaggeration of his characters physique and the way he perfects lighting and shadow with detailed brush techniques. I find his work to have a very unique style, which in tern inspires me greatly.
Odin Sphere: I found this Unique Cartoon style of these images rather intriguing. the multiple character sketches were also very helpful.
Infamous: I found these images particularly helpful for when I drew the two digital images of Leon using his environment manipulation power. The blue and yellow lightning coming from this characters hands were inspirational to my own designs.
Guilty Gear: When looking at these images i found that each character really spoke a unique personality, i found the art style very different and traditional to the others i looked at. This inspired me to really think carefully about my characters personalities and try to portray them well through my own unique style of drawing, i feel that i definitely achieved this.
Persona 4: This collection of Persona art work had very much the same effect on me as the Previous Persona art works. However this time around, i found the uncoloured character sketches very inspirational, in that i used the same kind of brain storming when sketching my own characters concept faces.
Final Fantasy 10: I used This collection of character designes as visual stimuli.
Final Fantasy 9: This beautiful collection of character, environments and airship designs greatly inspires me. I dont borrow elements of the hand painted or early steam-punk style, My inspiration is purely drawn from the beauty of the work. Also it just so happens this art is from my all time favourite game. I could look at this art for hours.
Rogue Galaxy: The multipul face expressions and character designs were useful for visual stimulation.
Lost Odyssey: I found the water colour complemented these character profiles nicely.
